Comprehensive Cut Grade Report
For a diamond to truly sparkle, its facets, angles, and proportions must be skillfully formed by a master cutter. Even a diamond of exceptional colour and clarity will appear dull and lifeless if cut poorly. Yet despite the critical importance of a diamond’s Cut, the concept remains poorly understood. Diamonds receive a “Cut Grade” ranging from Ideal to Poor, often with no explanation to the buyer as to the reason for the grade obtained.
In an effort to demystify Cut, AGL is proud to be the first appraisal firm to offer its clients Comprehensive Cut Grade Reports. These illustrated reports clearly set out each measurement that makes up a diamond’s Cut—from Table to Girdle to Pavillion—and assign a cut grade to each individual aspect of a diamond. Rather than simply telling you what a diamond’s Cut Grade is, a Comprehensive Cut Grade Report will show you why.
Virtual Diamond Imaging System (VDIS)
AGL has always been at the technological forefront, and was the first firm to offer Virtual Appraisals, which allow clients to view their appraisals online. The revolutionary Virtual Diamond Imaging System (VDIS), exclusively available to clients of AGL, goes one step further. VDIS enables clients to view detailed online images of their diamond captured by AGL’s state-of-the-art Diamond Imaging Equipment. Instead of a low-resolution picture on an appraisal certificate, clients can now see diamonds the way professionals see them. Each diamond is displayed in various positions, allowing the viewer to see the measurements and angles of each individual facet—including the Table, Bezel, Star, Upper Girdle, Lower Girdle, and Pavillion Main.
